2011

February 15 Fraternity Annual Reports are due

IMPORTANT ADDITION!!!

For this year, until we revise the report itself, what I need to present to the Regional Executive Council is a better estimation on the health of your fraternities.

To accomplish this I want each local minister send in along with your annual report form the following:

From the Minister:

A 1 page narrative evaluation of the health of the fraternity which includes your ways of supporting the spiritual & physical needs of your professed sisters and brothers.

Describe your fraternity & evaluate its spiritual well-being & health of the fraternity itself!

  1. Are folks properly formed in Franciscan attitudes?
  2. Is the fraternity a place of the Gospel?
  3. Is the Fraternity a truly Franciscan experience where people want to come?
  4. Does the fraternity support the members needs/desires for community or do members invest more time in other parish oriented groups - do you allow time for just sharing and prayer or is the gathering too structure to allow flexibility?
  5. Do professed members regularly wear the TAU both in and outside the gathering times?
  6. Are there extra community gatherings (not just monthly one) to build a closer community?
  7. does the fraternity occasionally worship together as a community?
  8. Is there an annual retreat along with periodic days of reflection?
  9. Does the fraternity keep "up to date" as newer Franciscan scholarship becomes available?
  10. Do you provide on-going formation regularly?  Is on-going formation done in short segments or drawn out so folks lose interest & continuity?
  11. If your group attracting potential new vocations?  why or why not?
  12. Are you more concerned with doing ministry (being apostolic) or first being Franciscan (evangelical)?

From the Spiritual Assistant --- same evaluation questions as for the minister, but done independently from the minister

These narratives will help us a Region to better look for ways to actively assist each fraternity and/or seek regional initiatives to support your needs.
